Hailing from China, Vera Wu's artistic journey spans continents, shaped by experiences in the UK, France, and the US. Her passion led her to the city of Nice, located on the French Riviera, where she studied photography and art under Olivier Baudoin at the Université Nice Sophia Antipolis.
Rooted in shanShui ink painting, her art weaves a vivid tapestry of colors and emotions, capturing the essence of encounters across vibrant metropolises and serene retreats. Influenced by the masters' works in museums and the vibrant hues of nature, her art becomes a reflection of life's intricate interplay, mentored by the vitality of plants.
Vera states that the disconnect and isolation, with art, I have my spiritual world. As America is a country of immigrants, it's hard to find my voice. My mom always encouraged me to do economics and business, and that should be the focal point. My mother also encouraged me to find my own goal and my passion in life. Vera states: "my mom is my inspiration".
Artist Vera Wu hones her craft by integrating techniques from mainland China, coastal France, and the United States. Continually inspired by diverse people and cultures she has had the privilege of learning from. Her art blends Western philosophy and Eastern Zen, transcending borders and limitations.
