Ashley Gibbs

Ashley Gibbs, a graduate of Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts with a BFA in Drawing and a minor in Sculpture (2018), is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in drawing and sculpture. Her creations utilize a variety of mediums, including ink, charcoal, graphite, printmaking techniques, clay, and natural found objects, to craft sculptures and installations. Central to her work is the recurring theme of Nature and Environmentalism.

Hailing from the coastal town of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, Ashley has spent most of her life in her family home, except for a pivotal four-month study abroad experience in Italy. Her deep connection to nature was fostered during her childhood, spent collecting rocks and shells along the shore, climbing trees, and exploring the outdoors. Supported in her artistic pursuits from a young age, Ashley's creative journey has been inextricably tied to her love for the natural world. Her semester in Tuscany in the Spring of 2017 ignited a passion for travel, inspiring further exploration across Europe and the U.S. West Coast.
