Raiders Emily Cattolica

An artist's friends and family are often the most accessible subjects for portraits, and this is my daughter Emily, before she cut her hair. The portrait is titled "Raiders Emily" because I had bought her a reflective white jacket featuring the Raiders football team logo. I wanted to capture the jacket at its brightest, so I positioned the sun directly behind me, with Emily staring into it. That's why she is squinting a bit.
