Crafted as a symbolic centerpiece for The Table & Gallery’s latest show and the grand opening of our second location in New York City, The Green Glider is more than an artwork, it's a celebration of movement, growth, and renewal.
Inspired by the duality of rootedness and flight, this piece was designed to reflect the gallery’s expansion beyond New Haven, honoring our origins while gliding into new creative territory. Rich green tones evoke rebirth and the organic flow of nature, while fluid lines and layered textures embody momentum, transition, and possibility.
Handcrafted by featured artist Alan Cary, in collaboration with our curatorial team, The Green Glider invites viewers to reflect on their own journey of transformation, where they’ve been, and where they’re being called to go.
Unveiled during the opening night of our NYC space, this work marks a new chapter in The Table & Gallery’s story: a space where art, community, and cultural storytelling continue to soar.
