Cara Chong is a graduating senior at Yale University whose work brings together medicine, history, and the arts. Deeply committed to improving women’s health, she has participated in annual medical service work in Guatemala and presented global surgical research conducted with Kids Operating Room and NASA at the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress.
Her senior thesis exhibition, The Garden Beneath Her Tongue, explores the silences and secrecy surrounding women’s birth control through an interdisciplinary lens of research, art, and lived experience.
Join us on April 10th at The Table & Gallery for Cara Chong’s Yale History of Medicine senior thesis art exhibition, a powerful presentation examining the silences, secrecy, and historical realities surrounding women’s birth control. Through art and research, the exhibition invites reflection on the body, autonomy, stigma, and resilience across generations. The evening will include an artist talk from 5–8 PM, offering guests the opportunity to engage more deeply with the work and the ideas that shaped it.
