Born in Singapore, Lee Yun Chai began his harp studies at age 5 with Katryna Tan. He is a first prize winner at the 26th Soka Nippon International Harp Competition (2014) Advanced Division, Malaysia-Singapore Harp Competition (2011) Youth Division, and 2nd Runner-up at the 16th Soka Nippon International Harp Competition Junior Division. He is a graduate of The Juilliard School, (studies with Nancy Allen and June Han), winning the 2014 Juilliard Pre-College Open Concerto Competition and was a soloist with the Juilliard Pre-College Symphony performing in Lincoln Centre. 

In 2011 he was selected to perform at the 11th World Harp Congress in Vancouver and was featured on the "Focus on Youth" concert series. Yun Chai has attended numerous harp festivals in Singapore in addition to the The Aspen Music Festival, International Harp Festival in Ancenis, France, Bowdoin International Music Festival and Académie Internationale d'été de Nice. In 2006, he was invited to perform at a state banquet for Queen Elizabeth II and in 2008, at the Asian Harp Festival-Hong Kong Rising Stars. He is also an avid orchestral and chamber musician, a frequent performer at Lincoln Centre, Alice Tully Hall and with the United Nations Chamber Music Society. He is currently a MM student at the Yale School of Music.
